It's been a year since GrX Fremont launched, and what a year it's been! The Leadership Core Team of the church has pushed hard this past year, and I am personally grateful for these committed people who have given their everything to see this church move forward so the gospel can spread through the East Bay region and beyond. To me, this core team of leaders embody the Christlike character, loyalty and sacrifice necessary for any movement of God. There is not one thing I would not do for these humble friends, and I am deeply indebted to them though I know they wouldn't think that way.
Other great happenings this past year include the formation of our own worship team, a new small group in the Dublin area, consistent attendance, the hire of a worship arts pastor, the hire of a pastoral intern, our first leaders' discipleship group (which took a vision trip to Cambodia) and the generous office space we have been given rent free. We've also had the generous spiritual and financial support of our mother and sister church campuses, GrX Sunnyvale and SF.
We are looking forward to this next ministry year with great anticipation of how God will use us to spread His gospel throughout the East Bay and world. To be wise and effective stewards of this ministry, our staff and lay leadership will focus all churchwide initiatives around 4 main areas:
1. The continuous casting of the GrX vision;
2. Leadership development;
3. Deeper community that is characterized by authentic relationships and a heart of worship;
4. Missional perspective and outward life that is intentional and holistic.
Please continue to pray for us. In addition to the 4 focus areas above, we pray that GrX Fremont will be a church of prayer; we pray that our people will understand the cost of living for the gospel, and that they are moved by the gospel to live radical lives for Christ, and we humbly ask that our church learns to be steadfast throughout all the trials we will face. Pastor Min and Esther just had their second child, Jeremy. Mother and child are doing well. Staff consists of Victor Huang as Worship leader and Alvin Shen as Ministry Intern. Attendance continues to be around 100. God recently blessed his staff with a 3000 sq. ft. office space rent free! Pastor Min reports that he is adjusting to life with two children while preaching on Sundays, developing leaders, and overseeing all their small groups.
